Wells of Refuge ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is provided by RAIN (Refugee and Immigrant Network of The Alliance). We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses this App, including individuals in vulnerable circumstances such as refugees and immigrants. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. No Account Required

Wells of Refuge does not require you to create an account, register, or log in to use the App. You can access all features, including simplified-translation scripture content, without providing any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

2. Information We Collect

Because no login is required, we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information (PII) through the App.

We do collect anonymized, aggregated usage analytics to help us understand how the App is used and to improve it. This may include:

• App version and device type (e.g., phone model, operating system version)
• General, non-precise location information (e.g., country-level), if made available by the device
• Feature usage patterns (e.g., which scripture sections are opened, session length, screens visited)
• Crash and performance diagnostics

This analytics data is not linked to your identity. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contact lists, precise GPS location, or any content you might otherwise associate with a personal account, because the App has no account system to attach that data to.

3. No Advertising

Wells of Refuge does not display advertisements and does not use advertising networks, ad identifiers, or third-party ad trackers. We do not sell, rent, or share any information with advertisers.

4. How We Use Information

The limited, anonymized analytics we collect is used only to:

• Understand which features and content are helpful, so we can improve the App
• Identify and fix technical problems or crashes
• Report in aggregate (non-identifying) form to RAIN and its supporters on the App's reach and impact (e.g., "downloaded in 180 countries")

We do not use this data for advertising, profiling individuals, or any purpose beyond improving and reporting on the App.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information — we don't collect any to sell. Anonymized analytics data may be processed by our analytics provider (named above) under their standard data-processing terms, solely to generate the aggregate reports described in Section 4.

We may disclose information if required by law, but given the anonymized nature of the data we hold, we would have no way to identify an individual user even if asked.

6. Children's Privacy

Wells of Refuge is designed to be family- and community-friendly, including for younger readers using the simplified-translation content. Because the App requires no account and collects no PII, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us using the details below and we will investigate.

7. Data Security

Analytics data is transmitted and stored using industry-standard security practices provided by our analytics vendor. Because this data is anonymized and not tied to an identity, the risk of harm from any disclosure is minimal — but we still take reasonable steps to protect it.

8. Your Choices

Because the App collects no personal information and requires no account, there is no personal profile to access, correct, or delete. If your device supports it, you can typically limit analytics collection through your device's privacy or app permission settings.

9. International Users

Wells of Refuge is used by people in many countries. Because we collect only anonymized, aggregated data, we do not process personal data on a country-by-country basis requiring separate regional disclosures (such as GDPR "data subject" requests), since there is no personal data tied to an individual to act upon.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
